Pretty Fridge...

So here is the back story...
I was reading a post on Frolic about making your fridge pretty (Imagine: Confetti poppers raining down around me).  So I set about making a pretty fridge. I loved opening the door, everything was pretty. It made me want to forage, gaze and even think about cooking (I have been in a minor slump for about a year).
But all my hopes were dashed by my two wonderful fridge wrecking adult children. They did not feel the vibe, the creativity, the inner artist. Instead they shoved, crammed, rearranged (hurricane style). Can you believe they even put ugly plastic containers in this beautifully styled fridge!
So now, my beautifully styled, magazine worthy fridge looks like a normal, boring, unappealing fridge. What a shame! I am glad I have a photo to remember my vision of a beautiful life. :)
I guess my slump will continue...

Old and New... and pretty too...

The little tree is full this year.  It is draped with vintage, new, and handmade ornaments. Littles and I had fun making homemade ornament. We think they turned out lovely on the little tree. Merry Christmas to everyone.

My little kitchen

This is where I spend most of my time... This hangs over my stove.
(thank you Kim)
It reminds me of blessings, espically when I don't feel like being a blessing.

this is my baking area
This is where I start my morning...
I must have my coffee, or else I am a grump!!

Little's room is almost done...

Starting fresh... A music stand and her Paris Print. New paint on an old bed I have been hauling from house to house for the past 18 years. Hoping I would find a use for it...
A little sparkle, owls our favorite.
A little warmth, she loves to play music and I love to hear it.

She went with a very sophisticated color pallet. Thank goodness for Ross. :)

Almost finished, we are currently looking for a nice white book case to store all her treasures on.
This all started because she needed a new bed. She had said she was sore from her bed. I sat on her bed and could feel the springs on my bum. Poor Little's sleeping in her hand me down bed. Sara's, then Jared's, then to her for the past 10 years. Sorry Little's. Sleep well!!

Slowly getting it together...

Things are slowly falling into place around here... Slowly is an under statement. I think the only room semi done is my bedroom. Here are a few glimpses...

A view of the living room and entrance.
Another view of the living room.
(see the rain deer- the movers broke his antlers, and my couch arm next to him... it sports a huge 12 inch gash courtesy of the moving company.) Boo Hoo!!!

the dinning room...
I have a tone of pictures to find homes for, but for now I am really into the less is more mood. ...and I'm loving it.
Blessings for now.

Hopefully I will be back in full swing here with in the next week or so. We are getting an air conditioner installed over the next three days. (dreamy) Then the cute guy's mom and dad will be here for a few days, they are seeing him one last time before he heads off to lands far far away. Mom do I hear any plans for you???? :) I am going to be lonely!

Getting settled!!

My old curtains~ too short...
Needing to find a quick and easy fix that wouldn't break the bank (just paid cute kids tuition), I found my self in the paint section of the local home improvement store. The solution to my troublesome short fall... a painters tarp. It fit the bill... inexpensive, natural soothing color, and long~ very long. A 9x15 tarp split down the middle gave me full, stylish window treatments, they even puddle at the bottom.

It was it a good choice & I love them!

Oh Christmas Tree, how I love thee!

I love Christmas, it is truly my favorite holiday. I love that the best gift we all have ever received came to earth, for us. Our Lord is amazing. I do pray all enjoy this time of year and keep him as the truest gift in your heart. I also have some precious friends that the Lord placed in my life to lead me to Him, and for that I am most grateful. Thank you to all of you, you know who you are..... Kim, Jennifer, Tim, Diane, I can only pray that I too can be a light in the world. Speaking of lights, here are some shots of my tree.... It is small, but I love it. My family laugh at me every year, because I always tell them how lovely the tree is 500,000,000 times every year.
Pretty ornaments all nestled in the branches.
Candy Canes and Thomas the train and Frosty greet me every morning.

Cute Guy putting on the tree topper, a recent thrift find. They all make me smile every day. The book case was a gift from the cute guy for my birthday. Can you believe he built that, he may have a new job, at least here at home as a furniture maker. :)
Merry Christmas to all and have a blessed week.

The 7 Day Decorating Challange

I am following Anna's plan,I will stick to her rules and see what I can do this week. Most importantly it must be free and it must make me smile.

Today I started with the dining room, I moved the buffet back into the dining room, to make room for my birthday gift(you will have to wait to find out what it is). I also hung my grandmothers tea cups and a cross-stitch picture she made. I really missed having the buffet in the dining room. So that makes me happy.

I was wanting some fall butterflies for my dining room table, so I made some, that makes me smile.
I placed some rum balls on the table for a special treat. They were left from Christmas, but were still good. LOL If I had only waited I could have used them this year. (not really)

Lampapalooza Party

This is my first ever blog party. I love lamps, so I couldn't resist. Here are a few that bring me joy.

This little darling was given to my daughter. Grandma's are the best!
My laundry room lamp. I love the base, but I still need to fluff the shade some. Here is one of my floor lamps, I love the beads.

This my all time favorite, a thrift store find. I love the shade, and the light it casts is gorgous.

A full view.

Do you have special lamps dwelling with you, if so stop in at the nesters and share them with us.

Reflections, so pretty.

A sneak peak in the sewing box.
Have a blessed day!

The Reveal- Audreys room

Today Audrey wasn't feeling very well. She fell back to sleep after waking to her alarm. Any how, I figured today would be a good day to clean her room. I really hadn't finished it, after all we have only been here for 5 months. Yikes! Here are the fruits of my labor.

The culprit!
The haul!
1 bag for goodwill, 1 bag trash, 1 bag of Christmas decor, 2 dish towels, 1 basket of yarn, not pictured are 1 pair of brand new running shoes (still in box), that I had given up on finding. Yea! I almost bought a new pair last week.

She has been waiting for me to put up her new shelves. Done! Now her Paris theme is in full bloom!

Here is another shot.

Panning around the room, her dresser from Walmart last year.

The bed!
Full of pillows, and animals. I have a few pillows on my bed, but that is to much work for this mama.

Her Paris bulletin board, with her favorite Renoir postcards. We went to an art exhibit last year featuring his work. We really enjoyed it.

A box!

Her favorite box!

I hope you had a productive day. I know I did. Have blessed day.

Home Tour- Le Kitchen

Here is a partial picture of my very small kitchen. I have learned many things about what I like and don't like. I hate black appliances, and granite counters. Dust, finger prints, you name it you see it. LOL Thankfully we are only renting this place. :)
All my daily cleaning and hand pampering are kept right next to sink for easy access.

My baking center, rather small, but it still works well. I can whip up anything I did in my larger kitchen. LOL
I hope you all have a nice day.
