An evening walk

This evening Little's and I ventured out for a walk. It was not just any ordinary walk, our walk had a purpose.

We were blessed with the many beauties our Lord has created. We carefully passed by the fields of wild grass.

We wound our way down to the creek. And enjoyed the many wonders of water and marsh plants.

Upon reaching our destination we joyfully set about the business of collecting specimens of the most perfect shapes and colors. Taking care to harvest only a few here and there, noting we will be sure to return in the near future.

Once we returned home we reminisced, and gazed upon our prized possessions. Noting how lovely they will look in a white vase on the dinning room table.

Blessings to all

Now for the truth, the distance is about a stones throw from my back yard. The creek is just a drainage ditch that runs behind our house, and we were eaten alive by bugs. But in my mind it was a beautiful place and I was with my sweet little girl.

Sights from our daily walks.

Moving is always tiresome. Yet it is always neat to find new sights.

The evening sunsets are wonderful.
Green trees, are always a favorite of mine.

A new berry to look up.
Old rail cars .

Fat bulls...
Have a wonderful weekend.

I am still alive, just in transition. We have made our move 3 states over. We are currently residing at an extended stay hotel. I have some stories to share, strange events occur living as a transient. I hope to be on here regularly with pictures too. We will move into our house around Aug 20. I cant wait!!!! I pray daily for the lords protection, and blessing while we rest here. I am thankful for his providence, but am looking forward to being settled.

Photos

Here are some more photos of our trip home last month. I sure do miss home, don't you mom.

Audrey took this picture of the nicely plowed field, grandpa does such a good job.
The men folk getting back from a wood cutting venture. Now grandma and grandpa will be nice and toasty for the winter. I love it. Tim did this with a horrible case of sciatica (sp)!!

A nice fat buck, I was standing about 2 car lengths from this guy. He just kept on eating from the oak trees. I was making noise to get him to look at me. Oh the life on land that can't be hunted.
The last of the crazy buffalo. You never know what you will find when you go home. I think these are stragglers from a heard that was in an accident. The truck tipped over with a bunch of these buggers in route to their new home. All were rescued but 3 or 4, I assume these are 2 of them. They are very shaggy and skinny.

Visiting with my family

While at home I managed to get this wonderful shot of my parents! They are very anti camera, but this is a treasure.
We also giggled a lot!!!
Played with the horse!

Had a blast with the new (old) wagon. Mom found this wagon for 12.00. What a steal.... I will post more about the wagon tale later!

Played with Audrey. Dog pile was the activity of choice.

And visited with the only child left at home. Sissy, strange how she managed to be called Sissy, that is what I have been called all my life. Are they lonely, do they miss me??? I only hope there is no resemblance that plagued them to name her Sissy. Hummm.... LOL I love you mom, and no I don't mind the dog being called sissy. :)
Blessings to all!

A visit home...

There is just something about home.... This past weekend we went home, a wonderful time. Here are a few photos of spring in the country. This is just outside my husbands parents home, the views are so breath taking. I soaked up every extra minute allowed, with camera in hand. Some day I hope to return home for good. For now we are a mere 2hours away, such is life. Mom I hope you enjoy the views, didn't get any photos of Grandma's house or the vineyard, maybe next time.

New spring foliage on the oaks.
Bright blue sky's.

A daddy quail keeping watch,
in about a month there should be one or two coveys out and about.
Enjoy God's creation!

The Reason for the trip......

We also we went to see my daughter Sara and her husband Josh. They took us to a museum in Raleigh. It was magnificent... Here were the whales.

The giant sloth... He was huge!

Scary bones! Yikes! But get ready for the real reason in the next photo....
We found a nest of eggs and we also found my precious Emma. This is my little darling. She was born a month early, so we extended our visit to help Sara and Josh. What a sweet blessing she is.
Here I am with all of my girls: Audrey, Sara and Emma.

Little hands bring such joy. May she love the Lord with all her heart.

We also went to Colonial Williamsburg for Audrey's birthday! Sara and Josh took us to D.C., but I will post the photos when said camera cable arrives.....

Many Blessing to all

The Long Vacation part 2

While in North Carolina, I got to see my nephew. He is now 6 months old and this was my first time seeing him in person.

We spent a week with my little brother and his family. I was thrilled to keep Demitri for a week. Audrey and I had so much fun... :)

The Long Vacation

OK, this is the barn. I wanted it a the end of my post, but I'm not sure about how to get it there.

This past November/December, Audrey and I went on a very long vacation. We had several stops along the way. I will save the main reason we headed east for the last of these posts, just to keep you in suspense. Here we are in North Carolina. We are visiting a very old plantation built in the early 1800s. Audrey is doing a little reading before we enter the gate.

This is Audrey standing by the cotton... she indulged me in many of the photos. ;)

Here is the main house. I was amazed by the height of the tree. It towered over the house. The stairs leading into the house are original to the home. ( I sat on them, but won't show you the photo!)

Here is the inside of the slave quarters. I just love the way this photo came out.

One of the out buildings.

I wanted to bake some bread in the kitchen while there.
